Ben Vinson — 20 years securing systems, shipping software, and building products at the intersection of security and scale.
I started fixing computers in middle school and never stopped pulling systems apart to understand them. That curiosity turned into a Computer Science degree and a decade of hands-on work across startups and high-stakes production environments.
Today I work at the senior level in security engineering — embedding security into engineering culture and working to measurably improve my employer's security posture — while also building MAVIS, a proof-of-concept veterinary inventory management application.
Family first. Integrity always. Execution is everything.
My Accurate Veterinary Inventory System: a practice management SaaS that keeps veterinary clinics in control of their medications and supplies. Expiration alerts, real-time stock tracking, barcode scanning, and role-based team access, all from any device.
Designed and built a SCIM provisioning solution for enterprise identity provider integration. Conducted an internal penetration test using CompTIA PenTest+ methodology. Partnering with engineering teams to identify and remediate vulnerabilities across the application and infrastructure stack.
Owned infrastructure orchestration across AWS and GCP using Terraform and Kubernetes for a large-scale online platform. Managed a contractor team handling maintenance, help desk, and incident response. Previously at Teespring, led migration of high-traffic applications handling 100M+ daily requests to AWS.
Practical perspectives on security engineering, product thinking, and building software at scale — no fluff, no jargon for its own sake.
